Ground handling lessons will be mostly done at Sylmar Flight Park landing area. Training hill flights are at Sand Cyn training hill in Santa Clarita just behind Kagel mt. to the north. Approximately 20 min away from Sylmar Flight Park.
Tandem lessons are from either Kagle Mt. landing at Sylmar Flight Park or Saddle Peak in Malibu landings are on the beach. Weather permitting.
Training is usually anywhere from 3 to 4 weeks of lessons to get a P-2 depending on weather conditions. A combination of kiting lessons, training hill lessons and tandem lessons to get the skills needed. Also ground school and chaulk talks after each lesson including weather information.
Introductory day kiting lessons are approximately 3 to 4 hours $300.00.
Introductory tandem flights are $250.00 plus $40.00 if we need to pay a driver.
Total coarse to get a P-2 rating is $1,500.00 if purchased with a gear package (glider, harness, and reserve). $2,500.00 if you have your own gear.
